Category · medal · ceremonyThe Florida Book Awards welcomes the support of patrons, foundations, booksellers, and cultural institutions who share its regard for the written word.
Named support may be arranged for a category, a medal, or the annual ceremony — an association with the year's finest books and the readers who honor them. Patrons are acknowledged in the prize's announcements, at the ceremony, and in these pages.
Patronage supports the reading itself: the honoraria paid to jurors, the shipping of jury copies, the shortlist publication, and the April ceremony. It does not, and cannot, bear upon the jury's deliberations.

The editorial firewall
What patronage cannot doPatrons are named alongside the category or medal they support and are thanked at the ceremony and in these pages. Patrons do not read entries, do not sit in on jury deliberations, do not receive advance notice of shortlists or winners, and do not communicate with jurors about specific books. The line is bright, and it holds. A patron who declines to observe it forfeits the association.
